The Space Jelly

In 1991, over 2,000 jellyfish polyps were blasted into space to test how they reacted to the lack of gravity. Those jellyfish reproduced in space, and there were about 60,000 jellies orbiting earth! When the mission ended, they were brought back to earth. However, the space-bred jellies were not able to adjust to life on earth.

But one escaped. Having bathed in cosmic rays for another 133 years it comes back in 2146…

Inspired by the real NASA experiment:

“NASA raised thousands of jellyfish in space. They ended up unfit for life on Earth.”
