On Saturday 27th June, we spent the day at the Royal Wharf Summer Fete, organised by Ballymore, with a table full of prints, cards, mugs, small creatures, and our usual Draw Your Own notebook.
It was one of those rare market days that felt properly calm. Sunny, warm, friendly, and not too rushed. We had a lovely time meeting people, chatting about the illustrations, and watching visitors stop to draw their own little characters in the notebook.
Royal Wharf also surprised us a bit. Tucked between the buildings and the river, the fete had this gentle pocket of green community energy. Families, neighbours, dogs, plants, food stalls, and small independent makers all sharing the same sunny space. It felt relaxed in the best way.
As always, events like this help us see what people are drawn to in real life. We are currently going through our bestselling designs from the day and using that feedback to shape the next collection.
One of the biggest changes coming through in the new work is the shift from a more printed illustration style towards a pressed linocut look. The difference is subtle, but noticeable. The lines feel a little rougher, warmer, and well, more handmade. Still cute. Still slightly odd. Just with more texture and character.
We also brought along our illustrated mugs, made for us by HA Pottery. They sat very happily among the prints and cards, looking useful and mildly suspicious.
Everything is made with care. We hand-select the paper, check the finishes, and carefully cut the prints so the cats, whales, capybaras, puffers, and other small creatures get the treatment they deserve.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, drew something, picked up a card, bought a mug, or had a quiet look through the prints.
We will be sharing more of the new linocut-style designs soon.
